Lorenzo de Cunzo is a lyrical baritone with German-Italian roots. He studied singing in the class of Prof. Hanno Müller-Brachmann and Prof. Ingrid Haubold at the Karlsruhe University of Music. Prior to this, he successfully completed his school music studies with clarinet as his main subject at the Freiburg University of Music. Lorenzo de Cunzo can be seen internationally both in opera productions and with his own projects, which move between jazz and classical music.
In recent years, he has appeared in numerous operas, including Mozart's Don Giovanni (Lautten Compagney Berlin / Mozartfest Würzburg), K. Hartmann's Simplicius Simplicissimus (Akademie Berliner Philharmoniker / Osterfestspiele Baden-Baden), A. Zemlinsky's Der Kreidekreis, R. Wagner's Lohengrin (Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe) and B. Britten's Death in Venice (Theater Heidelberg). He also made his debut on renowned stages such as the Festspielhaus Baden-Baden and the Konzerthaus Vienna. Together with pianist Tarek El Barbari, he continuously produces new formats as the duo Lota (La Dolce Vita!? / Just Heine/ Dichterliebe+), with which they have received grants and regularly tour. Recordings by Lorenzo de Cunzo can be heard on SWR Kultur radio broadcasts.
